We are a global creative collective with a shared vision for a better planet. Australian at heart, we have studios in Sydney, Brisbane, London and New York. Our work is underpinned by the things we care about, which we call our tenets. Our tenets are:

- Towards Net Positive
- Designing with Country
- Neighbourhood Making
- Radical Adaptation
- Elastic Work

Our vision is to be smarter, more creative and better for the planet. This will be achieved through four strategic priorities; Regenerative Practice, Eliminate Waste in Everything We Do, Accelerate Advanced Technologies and Inspire and Influence.

You could be full-time or part-time; perhaps you are returning to work or studying; come to us with your situation. We would love to hear from you.

BVN Culture - 'The Secret Sauce'
BVN was placed in the top 10 AFR BOSS Best Places to Work 2022 list in our category and was awarded 2019 Best in Practice Prize NSW by The Australian Institute of Architects (AIA). BVN was commended by the AIA jury “(For) their progressive approach to all aspects of workplace culture. BVN recognises that a diverse and inclusive environment supports engagement, empowerment, and performance. There is a clear understanding that cultural change must be led from the top, and, where possible, policies and benefits are open to all staff, junior and senior. These include access to research time, flexible work, parental leave and profit sharing". BVN fosters a learning environment and believes in assisting our people grow in their careers.

Our culture is one that nurtures collective creativity, inclusion and diversity, and importantly supports women across all areas of the practice but notably in senior architectural positions (we have five women in Principal leadership including our Co-CEO, Ali Bounds).
We have also established a BVN Pride Network. This initiative is about showing support for a significant population of our people, as well as those who are family and friends of LGBTQIA+ people. Having a Pride Network at BVN is also about drawing on the life experiences, insights, and knowledge of this group to improve our culture and awareness.

Benefits - 'The Good Stuff'

Our people come first, and we believe that a balanced, well-lived life is where we will find the most meaning. We live in a world that is fast paced and increasingly complex in its interconnectedness, which makes the call for wellness, diversity and inclusion ever more compelling. We are continually enhancing the BVN Experience and our investment in our people as we strive for better balance, encouraging a respectful and inclusive environment where all our people can thrive and be successful.

We’ve implemented what we call ‘The Good Stuff’ — guidelines that support our people to help achieve the right balance in their lives.
We've also implemented a hybrid way of working in which people are expected to be in the studio for 50% of their contracted hours. Along with 2 Volunteering days a year for people to connect and give back to their communities, it’s all part of ‘The Secret Sauce’ that makes BVN so special.

Embedded in a culture of enquiry, all team members ideas and skills are encouraged, valued, incorporated and shared.

We also encourage applicants from all backgrounds including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse groups, the LGBTIQ+ community, veterans, refugees, and people with disability. We support an inclusive workplace where our people have access to opportunities and resources at all levels, enabling everyone to drive innovation, productivity and delivery of high-quality services. We provide dignified access to reasonable adjustments both during the recruitment process and in our studio.
